The Orange County Senior Golf Club began as The Lancaster Golf Association, which was founded in December 1974 by Jack Lancaster.
In October 1987, Jack applied to the Southern California Golf Association for an affiliate membership. By February 1988, the Club had adopted a constitution and by-laws and was accepted into the SCGA as an affiliate member club.
The officers at that time were: Jack Lancaster, President; Pete Zogby, Vice President; and John Dixon, Secretary. Until 1993, Jack essentially ran the club with a little help from other members, primarily Pete Zogby. In 1993, Jack began to encounter physical problems, so Pete began to assume a greater share of the responsibility and with Jack’s passing in 1994, Pete took on the additional duties as President.
In 2018 the club membership decided to change the name of the club to better reflect where we play and where the membership resides.

A new member must be a young man of at least 55 years of age, and a member of the SCGA. You can join the SCGA and our club or speak with our Recruitment Manager by following the provided links.
We ask that a prospective member play a couple rounds with our group to ensure they will enjoy the courses we play, be comfortable with our competition and our membership.
The club plays each Thursday at 11 different courses in Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, with approximately 75% of the rounds at four courses: the Costa Mesa Country Club, Dad Miller in Anaheim, Meadowlark in Huntington Beach and Los Serranos in Chino Hills. The remaining rounds are at courses ranging from Anaheim Hills, Shorecliffs in San Clemente to Dos Lagos and Glen Ivy in Corona.
In our weekly rounds we compete for cash prizes in two flight brackets (A and B) for: low net scores, closest to the pin holes and a pre-round putting competition. The cash prizes are funded by a $15 entry fee paid by each player participating in the round of golf. The club plays several rounds each year using alternative formats such as: AA Teams (partners in the same flight) AB Teams (partners from each flight) and Scrambles. Additionally, we hold an annual tournament called The Gray Tourney which runs concurrent with the weekly rounds. The Gray Tourney is a double elimination competition using Match Play rules. We also annually play the Russo Cup at Meadowlark where we provide a post-round lunch.
OCSGC also has two official luncheons each year, an SCGA requirement for member clubs. Though these are largely social gatherings, we also do discuss suggestions for changes such as which courses we should play, election of new board members and other issues relevant to our membership. Any member may suggest a topic for discussion.
