John is a long-time OCSGC member who regularly shot in the 80s once he reached 90 years of age. He continued to play until two years ago. Check the first tee at Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach, there's a plaque commemorating John shooting a 98 at the age of 100. Each year OCSGC plays the Russo Cup Tournament at Meadowlark In honor of John.

John is now 103 years old and is still quick to smile, has a good sense of humor, and a hardy laugh. John exemplifies what Tom Brokaw labelled America's Greatest Generation.
